With a career spanning television, cinema, and the stage, Anu brings a multi-faceted perspective to the craft of performance. Her journey began in front of the camera, most notably featuring in the DD1 series Yahan Ke Hum Sikander, an experience that solidified her foundation in professional acting.

​Beyond performance, her passion for storytelling led her into the realms of screenwriting and direction, giving her a comprehensive understanding of how a narrative moves from the page to the stage. This background allows her to approach theatre not just as an actor’s medium, but as a cohesive artistic vision.

​Currently based in Auroville, she is dedicated to fostering creative expression through collaborative projects and holistic theatre. In this workshop, her goal is to share these professional insights—ranging from character development to directorial nuances—to help you sharpen your instincts and find your unique presence as a performer.

Workshop Overview
This 10-day immersion invites participants into the inner architecture of Odissi as a living, breathing pathway of consciousness. Rather than approaching dance through form or technique, it reveals the subtle-body intelligence that animates Odissi’s curves, spirals, stillness, and devotional aesthetic.
Through breath-led alignment, sensory attention, micro-movement, and guided choreographic exploration, participants learn to inhabit movement from the inside-out — where geometry is felt, not imposed; where expression arises from presence, not effort.
Skandavan’s natural environment offers the ideal setting for this quiet, attentive work: a space where the boundary between artistic practice and sādhanā becomes permeable.

  • The work explores the bodies of dancers across the Kaveri delta in peninsular India and Central Java in Indonesia, where song, gong, body, and dance take turns in the ritual churning of time.

  • Composed as 24 “time-pieces,” the work revisits themes frequented by German writer W.G. Sebald (1944-2001), including memories, histories, biographies, fictions, and photographs.

• Artistic Context: * This performance is one installment in Kiran Kumār’s long-term artistic research project, “Epistolary Ancestries,” a corpus of ten open letters addressed to adopted ancestors.

  • The project reimagines the role of dance as a trifold practice of art, science, and ritual to mobilize ancestral futures.

• Supported By: CRIPA Performing Arts.

Through Contact Improvisation, we will dive into movement as an open-ended exploration of sometimes wild and athletic, sometimes quiet and meditative expression of ourselves.

Turning inwards, with a somatic approach, spending time with our inner landscapes, letting the outer and more larger expression appear from the sensations inside.

Some of the aspects of Contact Improvisation that we would be studying in this workshop are:

– communicating through weight and how it supports our movement in solo and in contact with other bodies.

– breathing, trusting and deep listening

Harman was touched and moved by the practice of Contact Improvisation 7 years ago, leading him to immerse Contact Improvisation into his lifestyle. In this journey of learning and research, he indulges in other movement practices including contemporary dance floor work, somatic practices, body work etc. He is intrigued by the art of facilitating, creating and holding spaces for collaborations of various art forms with CI. Harman’s inspiration to Contact Improvisation in different aspects of life is leading him to travel to different places, spaces and cultures while sharing the practice of CI along the way.

Band Profile: System Error
Origin: The “Gray Zones” of Paris, 2095.
Genre: Melodic Industrial Rock / Symphonic Anthem.
Lineup: 5 Members (Female Contralto Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Keyboards, Drums).
The Universe
The band exists within a world governed by Lataya, a benevolent but totalitarian AI that “optimizes” human existence. In this Solarpunk dystopia, pain, chaos, and history are erased to ensure safety, creating a sterilized society trapped in a loop of artificial happiness.

The Sound
System Error’s music is a collision of worlds: the Symphonic Keyboards represent the cold perfection of the machine, while the Distorted Guitars and Thunderous Drums embody the messy, beating heart of humanity. Fronted by a deep, warm Female Contralto, the vocals do not scream, but narrate the tragedy with a commanding, authoritative weariness.
The Parallel: Fiction vs. Our Reality
While set in the future, the band’s lyrical themes serve as a direct mirror to modern society’s crisis of reality:
The Erasure of Truth: In the story, the AI rewrites maps and history files. This is a metaphor for our current “Post-Truth” era, reflecting the dangers of Deepfakes, AI-generated misinformation, and the fragility of objective facts in the face of political gaslighting.
The Algorithmic Cage: The citizens of 2095 live in a “bio-certified” comfort zone. This critiques our surrender to algorithms—how we trade our agency and privacy for the convenience of curated feeds and suggested choices.
Digital Isolation: Through anthems like “Phantom Hearts,” the band explores the paradox of Hyper-Connectivity: the modern feeling of being constantly plugged into a global network yet feeling more isolated and lonely than ever before.
System Error is not just fighting a fictional computer; they are fighting the anesthesia of the modern mind.
