To start, please come to an Intro Session next week (3 opportunities!) at the Youth Space in Aurodam to…

• Reconnect with The Mother’s and our personal visions for Auroville
• Remember some moments of inspiration from our past
• Play a game to stretch our imaginations
• Visualize a future, fully manifested Auroville
• Share in small groups about our memories and dreams
• Discuss what makes compelling storytelling
• Outline the process to create “digital stories” for the screening

Call For Applications: Panjim Cube Project, Deadline – 13 July, 2024 https://auroartworld.org/call-for-applications-panjim-cube-project-deadline-13-july-2024/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=call-for-applications-panjim-cube-project-deadline-13-july-2024 Wed, 03 Jul 2024 02:53:29 +0000 https://auroartworld.org/?p=48646 Serendipity Arts announces an Open Call for applications for the Panjim Cube Project under the curation of Thukral and Tagra for Serendipity Arts Festival 2024.

Inspired by the avant-garde ethos of Gutai, this project celebrates artists who challenge norms by merging art with everyday life. Taking its cue from the iconic Gutai artist Tsuruko Yamazaki’s work “Red Cube” (1956), which allowed viewers to enter and become a part of the work, this Open Call encourages proposals that blur boundaries between art and audience, and invite a wider public to step inside the canvas of possibility.

Imagine an 8x8x8 feet cube, suspended somewhere in Panjim. This cube, crafted from a material that speaks to your artistic vision, beckons passers-by to step inside and immerse themselves in its depths. It is an invitation to interact, to engage, and to become part of a living, breathing work of art.

As you envision your proposal, consider the endless possibilities that await within the confines of this cube. How will you captivate the senses? How will you challenge perceptions? How will you invite participants to explore the intersection of art and life in the city of Panjim?

We are excited to hear from you! Submit your application before July 13, 2024 (Extended Deadline).

Request for Proposals: Arts Practice programme, Deadline Extended: August 31, 2021 https://auroartworld.org/request-for-proposals-arts-practice-programme-deadline-extended-august-31-2021-2/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=request-for-proposals-arts-practice-programme-deadline-extended-august-31-2021-2 Tue, 24 Aug 2021 09:49:41 +0000 https://artservice.auroville.org/?p=24122

India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) invites applications for
Explorations
Under its Arts Practice programme

Application deadline extended to Tuesday, August 31, 2021

The Arts Practice programme seeks to implement projects where artists expand their present range of practices in new directions. These could question accepted conventions, push new frontiers in content, form and medium, explore new modes of engagement with space, audience and communities, foregrounding a spirit of experimentation.

Programme Officer John Xaviers talks about the application process for Explorations
under the Arts Practice programme in this video below

Explorations:

While practicing the arts we might sometimes stumble upon an idea or feel an urge to venture into a direction that is fresh and exciting. However, given the context and location of our practice, these ideas may be unfamiliar and thus the impending journeys into its foray, tentative and uncertain. We may at the time know nothing about where it will lead us to or what it might clearly mean for our present practice. And yet we feel the draw, understand its import and sense the necessity of following through. A little support at these times may be of help.

Under the Arts Practice programme, we invite proposals for such Explorations that seek to probe, test and play around with ideas that are nascent, risky or unprecedented, which may or may not lead into the making of an artwork later on. This could include researching, script-writing, location scouting, animatics, jamming, storyboarding, rehearsing, sampling, robotics, lab explorations and other forms of exploratory work that are used to examine ideas.

Duration of the project: Up to 6 months

Budget: Up to a maximum of Rs 75,000/-

Deadline: August 31, 2021
