Inner Stage to Outer Stage – Self-Discovery Through Theatre
What actually happens in this workshop?
This is a three-day experiential theatre workshop where we use theatre as a tool to understand ourselves, explore our emotions, discover our hidden expressions and understand the different roles we play in everyday life.
Through theatre games, body movements, voice exercises, improvisations, imagination, character exploration and creative activities, you will gradually explore how you think, feel, express and respond to the world around you.
We will explore questions such as:
– Who am I beyond the identity I show to others?
– Why do I behave differently in different situations?
– How much of my personality comes from my own choices, and how much is shaped by others’ expectations?
– Can I understand my emotions without being controlled by them?
– What happens when I step outside my usual roles and allow myself to express freely?
What will you experience?
– Exploring your body, voice and emotional expressions.
– Understanding your thoughts, feelings and behavioural patterns.
– Exploring different characters and identities through improvisation.
– Expressing yourself through movement, imagination and dramatic situations.
– Observing yourself through creative theatre exercises.
– Developing self-awareness, confidence, empathy and freedom of expression.
You don’t need any previous acting experience. You don’t have to be an actor or perform perfectly. You only need curiosity, openness and a willingness to participate.
The ultimate purpose is not to teach you how to act like someone else, but to help you understand yourself beyond the roles and masks you carry in everyday life.
In this workshop, we are going to use theatre to explore that question. Through games, improvisations, movement, character development and creative exercises, we will explore our inner feelings and bring them into external expression.
It is not about becoming a good actor. It is about becoming more aware of yourself. We begin with our inner world and gradually bring that exploration to the outer stage.
One important point for you that participants understand that this is not a psychological treatment or a counselling session.
It is a creative, experiential process of self-exploration using theatre. Nobody should be forced to reveal personal experiences or emotions.
