Pondicherry, June 2025 — This month, Alliance Française Pondichéry presents a vibrant and inclusive series of events under the theme “Pride & Animation”, weaving together cinema, exhibitions, virtual experiences, and forums that celebrate diversity and artistic expression.

🖼️ Exhibitions

  • “Land and City” by Dr. S. Jayaraj & Ms. Raji Rvichandran (June 3–5)
    Opening on June 2 at 6:30 PM – An exploration of urban and natural rhythms through visual storytelling.

  • “Fier.e.s” (June 7–22)
    A moving French-language exhibition spotlighting the persistence of LGBTQIA+ discrimination, despite increased visibility.

  • “Homophobies, LGBT+phobies, ça suffit !” (June 24–30)
    A powerful reflection on the continued struggles faced by queer communities in contemporary society.

🎬 Screenings & CineForum

  • June 5, 7 PM: “L’animation française, cet autre cinéma” – A French documentary uncovering the layers of animated film history.

  • June 10, 7 PM: “Amma’s Pride” (2024) – A short documentary followed by a discussion with the film crew.

  • June 12, 5:30 PM: “Le Petit Nicolas” – A heartwarming French children’s comedy.

  • June 15, 6 PM: Pondy Film Forum presents “The Room Next Door” (2024), a poignant drama.

  • June 17, 7 PM: “Sauf les Aveugles, Femme Endormie” (2022) – Sci-fi drama.

  • June 19, 7 PM: CinéClub features the classic “Astérix et Obélix: Mission Cléopâtre” (2002).
