Fabrice Nicot, a French theatre director and professor, who came to Auroville last May to lead a two-week workshop entitled “Living Yoga through the Arts of Transformation according to Jerzy Grotowski” and who is currently leading a new workshop in Auroville, would like to share his artistic method with Aurovilians through a practical work session on Sunday, August 31, 2025.This session is part of an artistic research project “Embodied Memories of Auroville” planned for 2026-2027, which Fabrice Nicot wishes to conduct with Aurovilians in cooperation with the University of Paris 8, based on the founding texts of Auroville and the experiences of its inhabitants.

Techniques covered:
– Relaxation
– Breathing and voice placement
– Physical and vocal training
– Learning vibrational chants from Haiti

Some objectives:
– Listening and availability
– The voice and body alive and vibrant
– Musical speech
– Experience with the collective

Prerequisites:
– None (open to anyone interested, available, and motivated)
– Free
– If possible, bring a memorized text of at least one page that is important to you (not mandatory)

Fabrice Nicot is a theatre director and teacher associated with the Grotowski Institute (Wroclaw, Poland). Doctor (PhD) in Theater (University of Paris 8) and Doctor (PhD) in Anthropology (State University of Haiti), holder of the French State Diploma as an actor and as Theatre Professor (French National Drama School), he teaches in universities, in professional drama schools and produces his performances in France and abroad.
