Join us for a two-day online intensive exploring the cinema of Béla Tarr as a philosophical encounter with time, space, exhaustion, and existence after history’s collapse. Centered on Sátántangó and The Turin Horse, the course approaches long takes as ontological practices, not stylistic flourishes. We will trace the Hungarian Great Plain as landscape, history, and metaphysical condition, engaging with László Krasznahorkai’s prose, Miklós Jancsó’s cinema, and dialogues with Heidegger and Nietzsche.
