Overview: Experimental animated film about the life of the painter Vincent van Gogh, and, in particular, about the circumstances of his death. It is the first fully oil painted animated feature film.
Synopsis: In 1891, in Arles, the postman Joseph Roulin asked his son Armand to deliver the last letter of the painter Vincent van Gogh to Théo, his brother. Armand is very reluctant as he remains convinced, like most people, that Vincent Van Gogh was insane. Yet he agrees to please his father, although he will learn that Théo just died. Nevertheless, all that Armand learns about the painter’s death makes him want to know more and he goes to Auvers-sur-Oise to investigate the intimate and artistic life of Vincent van Gogh…riginal English version, with English subtitles – Duration: 1h35’

«LA PASSION VAN GOGH » (Loving Vincent en Anglais)Réalisé par Dorota Kobiela & Hugh Welchman, Pologne/ Angleterre, 2017Inspiré par la vie de Vincent van Gogh, le film se caractérise par un format inédit : l’animation est effectuée à partir des toiles du peintre lui-même, copiées et modifiées de manière à composer chaque image du film. Le film a été récompensé par plusieurs prix.
Synopsis : En 1891, à Arles, le facteur Joseph Roulin demande à son fils Armand de livrer la dernière lettre du peintre Vincent van Gogh à Théo, son frère. Armand est très réticent car qu’il reste convaincu, comme la plupart des gens, que Vincent van Gogh était fou. Il accepte pourtant, pour plaire à son père même s’il apprend que Théo vient de mourir. A partir de ce moment, tout ce que Armand apprend que la mort du lui donne envie d’en savoir plus et il se rend à Auvers-sur-Oise pour enquêter sur la vie intime et artistique de Vincent van Gogh …
