YOU WANT TO DEFEND AN EXTENDED IDEA OF DANCE?
You think that with the pretext of organising a competition, it is possible to create a true, big, and free happening? an open time to change what is usually allowed? Yes ? No? That it can even be merry? You practice acting, dance, fine arts, sociology or design, and you think you have a good idea to intelligently occupy the space and time? Any kind of a contest makes you sick? But you still are curious as to the outcome? You want to take part, watch, give a try ? You are welcome
DANSE ÉLARGIE is an international competition open to artists of all disciplines (dance, theatre, visual arts, music…) and all ages.
If you want to present an original proposition on the stage of the Théâtre de la Ville, Paris, or on the stage of the LG Arts Center, Seoul, for ten minutes (maximum) and with three people (minimum), read on… In 2010, Boris Charmatz, director of Musée de la danse, and Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota, director of Théâtre de la Ville, imagine a new type of event: the Danse Élargie competition.
In 2016, after three succesful events in 2010, 2012 and 2014, and in continued partnership with the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès, DANSE ELARGIE will take place in Seoul and in Paris during two week-ends :
June 11 and 12 2016 at LG Arts Center, Seoul (Korea)
June 18 and 19 2016 at Théâtre de la Ville, Paris (France)
About forty projects will be selected to compete, either in Seoul either in Paris.
