ABOUT THE ARTISTMuthiah Kasi was born on Sep 16, 1988 and hails from Madurai, Tamilnadu. He is a visual artist who likes to create art with soil based pigments that are natural and ecologically safe. He pursues active research in making paints from natural pigments & binders which entails a laborious process in pigment refinement techniques. Over the years, his unique style has been firmly rooted in his study of geometry of proportions & recurring fractal patterns in nature. He also finds himself venturing through fields of sustainable food cultivation, construction with natural materials while discovering pathways towards living harmoniously with the nature of our planet.
A collection of such earth paintings were featured for the first time at DHI Art Festibal at Bharat Nivas Kalakendra, Auroville in March 2018.
He now lives and works from Auroville region, providing art services and design consultation based on communication needs of conscious ventures, using his knowledge and experience as a Communication Designer & Illustrator.
