Engage, an online International Forum on the Arts for Children and Young People, presented by ThinkArts, in association with Goethe Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata, seeks to bring various stakeholders – parents, artists, cultural institutions, educators, museum professionals, venue directors, arts funding bodies to together deliberate on issues within the arts for young audiences sector &  arrive at possible ways in which we can address the gap in arts engagements for children and young people.

Held online, this forum will bring in panelists, workshop leaders, performers and participants from around the world. The primary discussions for this iteration of the forum will be focussed broadly on arts and education, young people in cultural spaces, accessibility, digital arts engagements and advocacy.

Each session will present views and know-how from the panelists and have scope for an interactive Q&A. The forum will also provide resources for the participants to kick-start implementation in their own contexts and capacities.

The forum will include a series of workshops to help parents and teachers develop ways to engage with children creatively, artistically and sensorially. There will also be a day-long curated programme of enriching and high quality performances for children and teenagers.

Engage is also supported by the Australian Consulate General, Kolkata, and the Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg, and has been selected as one of ASEF culture 360’s 2020 Media Partnerships
