These two courses were conducted in association with FTII. With FTII we are looking forward to a long term collaboration” Rrivu says.
“17th November is The Mother’s Mahasamadhi Day. It was one of her wishes to have a cinema school, a cinema studio in Auroville. We feel it is truly her blessing. We are trying to make things work as best as possible. We are developing an annual plan of short and long term courses, student exchanges, mentorship programmes and cinema centric learning journeys.
The guiding principles of Auroville Film Institute are: Unending education and constant progress; Technical training for mastery over the art and craft of filmmaking; Time travel : Create narrative vehicles taking us from deepest within to farthest around in the past, present and the future; widening our consciousness, giving us ‘Darshan’ / insight. Courageous flights between dreams, realities and alternatives; Critical appreciation, mentoring and production of conscious cinema; also of innovative experimental multimedia art forms; and Human Unity.
Auroville, an intentional universal township dedicated to the ideals of human unity, free progress and transformation of consciousness. It is the first and only internationally-endorsed township with residents from over 52 countries living together as a unified, progressive community. “
