FLUID_600Invitation – FLUID 2016

Dear Members of Auroville,

We are a group of artists and art enthusiasts who have created a platform called FLUID which encourages and promotes offbeat arts and artists. Every year, offbeat artists from all over the country assemble in one place to display, promote and appreciate each others art. Performances are as diverse and rare as didgeridoo, slack-lining, acro-yoga, devil’s sticks, fire poi, juggling, capoeira, kalaripayattu etc. Some of the noteworthy artists attending include Ami Shroff (India’s leading female flare artist), Slack.in, Mind-map, Psydidge and Agni.

We thought you and your residents might be interested in meeting our artists and checking out what they have to offer.

This is the third edition of FLUID and we’ll be thrilled to have you over.

>>What is Fluid?

Atmospheric pressure is an invisible friend who squeezes with a hug all the time. And when pressure is applied to a shapeless form, it flows. Fluid is inherent in any human being and creativity is its dynamic form, which yields and flows when it comes under the influence of an art form or even otherwise. In this year’s edition of our event, also called ‘Fluid’ we wish to provide that platform where all these flows meet just like a confluence of rivers, become one and move downstream to join an ocean of elevated off beat art consciousness.

Come add to this collective gathering which is striving to observe and express the nature inherent within and around us by embodying the most apparent medium of nature – play. Join the core of the movement, the tribe of performers and dancers of the various flow and fire arts. We would like to welcome all enthusiasts, newbies and ninjas to experience unique forms of play dedicated to the realms of movement, flow and fire. Our no holds-barred, do-it-yourself, open source platform has artists practicing different creative forms and if you are planning for a Sunday dedicated to picking up a new skill then look no further. Just come and join the flow.
