A display of works done in Pondicherry during the one month residency at Tasmai and a tête-à-tête with the artist on the
5th April, 2015, Sunday from 4 p.m onwards
Efrat Attias’ work is a series of portrait paintings, representing Pondicherry’s fruit and vegetable market workers.
Her work is inspired by the vibrant and colorful atmosphere of the market, especially the intimate interactions with the lovely hard working people.
The paintings combine stitched fabrics, jute and branches as frames, in an attempt to bring alive the feelings and textures of the market.
