MUSIC: Aaj by Bloodywood
Bloodywood is an Indian folk metal/nu metal band. They incorporate traditional Indian instruments (primarily flute and dhol), and infuse elements of hip-hop as well for a truly unique sound. Their newest song, Aaj, is their second single from their upcoming debut album ‘Rakshak’. The song is about overcoming difficult times, rising above the struggles, and being better that you were.
The band features the unique melodic combination of guitar and flute played by Karan Katiyar, the tough and gritty rap (in English) from vocalist Raoul Kerr, and the thunderous yet melodic choruses (usually in hindi) of Jayant Bhadyula. It is this unique concoction of music that has allowed the band to gain a massive following. In fact, they are more popular abroad than they are here in India.
