INTACH Pondicherry and Urban Design Collective are planning an International Workshop titled ‘People’s Puppet Project (PPP)’ in Pondicherry from 15th to 24th December 2014.

This will be followed by public performances on 26th and 27th December 2014 at prominent, public locations around Pondicherry’s Boulevard Town, and a performance at Dakshinachitra Cultural Centre for a Chennai audience on 28th December 2014.

The event will be held in collaboration with Snuff Puppets-Australia and Indianostrum Theatre-Pondicherry, with support from the Government of Australia under the Australia-India Council.

The Peoples’ Puppet Project (PPP) is a unique model in which diverse community groups work intensively with Snuff Puppets to design, build and perform their own outdoor giant puppet spectacles.

You can find detailed information about the workshop and participation here: http://tinyurl.com/faq-pondy

The aim of the event is to promote the local heritage and culture of our cities through large-format public performances, while creating awareness towards heritage conservation and boosting heritage tourism locally and internationally.

To participate, please register here: http://tinyurl.com/ppp-pondy

You will notice, that there is a participation fee, but do not let that be a deterrence. We are ensuring that local participation is free. What is necessary though, is that participants are available for the entire duration of the workshop and performances.

Looking forward to your active participation,

Kind regards,
