Returning from Auroville to Haridwar: With newer meanings of life.
By Tarun Kumar

Last year, I toured south of India for about 3 months – visiting and staying at various ashrams and monasteries. Auroville was not on my itinerary. And yet I landed and stayed at Auroville for a couple of days.

I was not sure if I was specifically-searching or vaguely-seeking for the next steps in life. Within 2 nights my mind cleared, spirit buoyed, heart grew fonder and body somehow rejuvenated. Mother’s grace and succour is indeed for all; those who live closeby or those who get drifted close by destiny.

Returning back to Haridwar, I did some basic renovation to our old house here that was lying locked for years. I opened it up in July 2017 under the name AZIMVTH Ashram as an international artist residency focused on spiritual, experimental, and performance dimensions of all art forms.

The homepage of our website begins with these words from Canto III, Book VII – “Traveller or pilgrim of the inner world — Fortunate art thou to reach our brilliant air — Flaming with thought’s supreme finality. O
aspirant to the perfect way of life, Here find it; rest from search and live at peace.”

In the past few months, we have had artists (portrait maker, Hollywood artist, visual artist, singer, and actress) from the US, Canada, UK, Netherlands, and Denmark stay with us for a typical stay of 4 weeks. And more are scheduled to come.

We are now expanding.

Thank you Mother, Sri Aurobindo, Auroville, and all the associated friends!
