“Kashmir-the Lost Paradise?”


Sushil Pandit will speak about Kashmir’s civilizational connect with the rest of India. It refers to old lores and ancient texts which could be called ‘pre-historic’ leading to early history -Spiritual, Social, Cultural and Political interactivity with the rest of India. It also traces contribution of Kashmir to India’s Knowledge traditions.

 
DEBATE with questions & Answers: 
Two authors will exchange their perspectives: Sushil Pandit and Claude Arpi (the author of a book on Kashmir (Published in France by Editions Picquier) http://www.editions-picquier.com/ouvrage/cachemire-le-paradis-perdu/  on  the modern history starting with the 19th century. It involves the impact of global changes, anti-colonial struggles, partition of India, post partition challenges, our constitution, laws, policy and the Indian response over the decades. 


Brief bio-data: scholar on the history of Sushil Pandit is a renowned Kashmiri. He serves as Adjunct faculty for teaching Strategic media planning, at the Indian institute of Mass Communication and National Institute of Advertising, Delhi. He is an Honors Graduate in Commerce from University of Delhi and also an alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru University where he pursued his PG in Chinese Studies.  He has given talks on Kashmir and India at several prominent venues such as IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Centre for Indic Studies and several universities. He is the Founder of The Hive, a brand management firm and was previously the Chairman of the Exchange4media group. Mr. Pandit is originally from Srinagar, and was born and brought up in Delhi.  For more details, please see below:
