Synopsis: Naqoyqatsi is a Hopi word meaning “life as war”. Is also translated as “civilized violence” and “a life of killing each other”. It is the third and final film in the Qatsi trilogy by the filmmaker Godfrey Reggio, who once again takes us on an emotional journey that highlights the profundities embedded in our everyday lives. In a cinematic concert, mesmerizing images are plucked from everyday reality, then visually altered with state-of-the-art digital techniques. The result is a chronicle of the shift from a world organized by the principles of nature to one dominated by technology, the synthetic and the virtual. Extremes of intimacy and spectacle, tragedy and hope fuse in a tidal wave of visuals and music, giving rise to a unique, artistic experience that reflects the vision of a brave new globalized world… As the previous Qatsi, the film is accompanied by the music of Philipp Glass!. Synopsis : Naqoyqatsi est un mot Hopi qui signifie « la vie comme la guerre ». Il est également traduit par « violence civilisée » et « une vie pour s’entre-tuer ». Il s’agit du troisième et dernier film de la trilogie Qatsi du cinéaste Godfrey Reggio, qui nous emmène une fois de plus dans un voyage émotionnel qui met en lumière les profondeurs ancrées dans notre vie quotidienne. Dans un concert cinématographique, des images fascinantes sont extraites de la réalité quotidienne, puis modifiées visuellement avec des techniques numériques de pointe. Le résultat est une chronique du passage d’un monde organisé par les principes de la nature à un monde dominé par la technologie, le synthétique et le virtuel. Des extrêmes d’intimité et de spectacle, de tragédie et d’espoir fusionnent dans un raz-de-marée de visuels et de musique, donnant lieu à une expérience artistique unique qui reflète la vision d’un meilleur des mondes mondialisé … Comme le précédent Qatsi, le film est accompagné par la musique de Philipp Glass.
