I started drawing and painting at an early age. Having been raised in a Catholic environment I often copied pictures of a Madonna or a Christ or an angel, or a native scene, until gradually I got into portraits. I admired all major Italian painters (generally from the 15th century and the Renaissance), and I mainly used tempera paints, or ink.

It was only at the age of 30 that I discovered Watercolour. I met a high level watercolour artist who showed me some geometric exercises that work with the same concept of Yoga or Tai Chi. Through these exercises alone one can master the use of the brush, the combinations and intensities of colours, perspectives and distances, and more.

While absorbed in this training I realized that to me the art of geometry and watercolour is related to meditation. It helps me reconnect with my inner guide and centres me. So while meditating i improved my painting skills. I see India as a living work of art and, whenever I get the chance, I try to capture some of its most profound beauty which I see in the most ordinary scenes.

Unfortunately India’s frantic rhythm is not the ideal for sitting and painting in meditation, so i take photos and later i paint at home.
