An Invitation
Poetry stillpoint at Savitri Bhavan Garden

Wednesday October 8th 2025 at 4:21pm
A poetic expression in design— a living, visual embodiment of Invitation, a poem by Sri Aurobindo. The event begins with a brief sharing of context, followed by quiet, experiential time with the poetic art.

Meet at the open amphitheater in the Savitri Bhavan gardens (Saraswati Park). Please come prepared for a comfortable walk in the park. The poetry visual installation will be accessible within Savitri Bhavan working hours. Use the time and space as an invitation in nature, walks, journaling, reading, reciting and/or just being.

“…I was taken to Alipore and placed in a solitary cell. There I waited day and night for the voice of God within me, to know what He had to say to me, to learn what I had to do…I remembered that a month or more before my arrest, a call had come to me to put aside all activity, to go into seclusion and look into myself…I…could not accept the call. My work was very dear to me… he spoke to me again and said, “The bonds you had not the strength to break for you…I had another thing for you to do and it is for that I have brought you here… to train you for my work.”
