Remembering Veenapani Festival 2025
In Puducherry, From April 13 to April 19, 2025
“Memories, Movement & Magic”

Adishakti Laboratory for Theatre Art Research proudly presents the 11th edition of Remembering Veenapani Festival (RVF), a vibrant tribute to its founder, Veenapani Chawla, from April 13 to 19, 2025. Set against the serene backdrop of Adishakti’s verdant three-acre campus near Auroville, this week-long festival brings together an extraordinary lineup of performances and events, featuring Theatre by Adishakti and Musical by Mallika Taneja, Physical Theatre by Vishwakiran Nambi Dance Company, and soul-stirring Music by Smita Bellur, SAZ and the Warsi Brothers. Expect a mesmerizing blend of traditional and contemporary artistry, from thought-provoking reinterpretations of Indian epics to soulful Sufi Qawwali, alongside Savera, a unique early morning performance and an interactive Kartal workshop.

True to Adishakti’s founding principles of accessibility and community engagement, all performances and workshop remain non-ticketed—a practice made possible through the generosity of sponsors and well-wishers. This commitment reflects the organization’s deep connection to the four surrounding Tamil Nadu villages and its mission to make transformative artistic experiences available to all, regardless of economic means. Under the leadership of Vinay and Nimmy, the festival continues to bridge traditional and contemporary art forms while serving as a catalyst for creative collaboration, cultural exchange, and social transformation.
