A Clay Connect is a film about Palanisamy, a traditional potter from the Velar potter community and Adil from Mandala Pottery, Auroville. Adil and Palanisamy do not share a common language but communicate through clay.
Palanisamy practices a tradition handed down to him by his ancestors of Thuvaradimanai village that dates back to a continuous tradition of over two hundred years. Adil, a contemporary artist takes Palanisamy’s traditional art and gives it a contemporary spin. It’s a collaboration that transcends time and language, creating a common connect that brings the past into the present.
