Musical Renditions Of Sri Aurobindo’s Sonnets

Inspired by the literary works of Sri Aurobindo, Shakti Balu arranged twelve of his Sonnets in five part vocal harmony. Some of the pieces are accompanied by recitations of the poetry, viola and piano recital and supportive electronic soundscapes.

The work was conceptualised in Auroville, India and originally performed live as an offering during the occasion of Sri Aurobindo’s 150th birth anniversary.

“Musical Renditions of Sri Aurobindo’s Sonnets’, is an extension of this work that was originally shared in the year 2022.

In this partial album we share 7 out of the 12 pieces and invite your deep listening and generous financial support to record the other 5 pieces.

Your contributions will go towards the completion of the album and further development of this project.
