Thursdays 6-7pm Auroville Library.
Join us to read Pema Chödrön’s accessible guide to compassionate living shows us how we can use painful emotions to cultivate wisdom, compassion & courage, ways of communication that lead to openness & true intimacy with others, practices for reversing our negative habitual patterns, methods for working with chaotic situations & ways to cultivate compassionate, energetic social action.
All are welcome – there is no need to have read the book before coming 🪷🪷 A few extra copies of the book will be available, but if you have a copy please bring it with you.
We read one chapter per session, followed by time for individual meditation/reflection & sharing ❤
This week we will be exploring chapter 9 on Six Kinds of Loneliness… ‘Usually we regard loneliness as an enemy. Heartache is not something we choose to invite in. It’s restless & pregnant & hot with the desire to escape & find something or someone to keep us company. When we can rest in the middle, we begin to have a nonthreatening relationship with loneliness, a relaxing & cooling loneliness that completely turns our usual fearful patterns upside down.’
