| Art for Land 2020 was inaugurated on January 11th by the Honourable Dr. Kiran Bedi, Lt. Governor of Puducherry at the Unity Pavilion in an inspiring atmosphere of both beauty and united aspiration. Now, two not-to-be-missed associated exhibitions are kicking off in Pondicherry this week for ART FOR LAND in association with Auroville Art Service: Tasmai Gallery – A Centre for Art & Culture will host: “Abhipsa” with works by the late Usha Patel – from January 19th – 25thYou are warmly invited to attend the opening of “Abhipsa” on 19th January at 6 PM at the Tasmai Gallery, inaugurated by artist Priti Ghosh in the presence of Urmila Patel. Usha Patel developed as a painter under the Mother’s direct guidance, and many of her work’s were seen by The Mother, with some named by The Mother. This week-long exhibition brings together many of Usha Patel’s beautiful paintings, recognized for their artistic and spiritual sensitivity. Art for Land is grateful to the Tasmai Gallery for its collaboration in raising funds for Auroville’s land via the exhibition and sale of these works. Tasmai Director, Kirti Chandak, is herself a many-times awarded artist, and curator. Held in the elegance of the famed Promenade Hotel on the Bay of Bengal, Sangam will be ongoing for six weeks.
