I am writing to you from Film Heritage Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of India’s cinematic heritage.
This is with regard to our major training initiative — the Film Preservation & Restoration Workshop India 2017 (FPRWI 2017). FPRWI 2017 that is to take place from October 7 – 14, 2017 in Chennai is an initiative of Film Heritage Foundation (FHF) and The International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF) in association with The Film Foundation’s World Cinema Project, L’Immagine Ritrovata, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, Prasad Corp., La Cinémathèque française, Imperial War Museums, Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna, the Finnish Film Archive, the Czech National Film Archive and the Criterion Collection.
The intensive workshop with a superb international faculty will cover both theory and practical classes in the best practices of the preservation and restoration of both filmic and non-filmic material and will include daily screenings of restored classics from around the world. The course is certified by FIAF.
