greetings from Priya Sundaravalli, currently artist in residence in Korea:
I wanted to share the invitation of the artists in residence final group show at the Clayarch Gimhae Museum.
Announcement and description at: http://neolook.com/archives/20141109d
I have created 3 installations – 1 outdoors and 2 indoors – all inspired by Korean imagery from poems of Korean Poet, Dr. Kim Yang-Shik also happens to be a Padmashree awardee for her work on translating Rabindranath Tagore for the Korean audience.
Here is a sneak peek into the installations:
The titles of the works (shown below in their English translation) are lines taken from various Korean poems by Dr. Kim Yang-Shik. These ‘titles’ best capture the mood or feeling that the works evoke (for me)…
Title:
In the drift of falling leaves
I live this fall
Lost by myself
What a delight!
Title:
On the full-moon night
You rolled a fragrant flower-cart
Laden with words of pure wisdom
To an unknown friend.
Title:
Someday the sun will turn bright again
And the sea blossom into fresh morning’s dream
much love and light
