“SHARIRA”
A rare documentary produced by Olivier Barot on Chadralekha’s last dance choreography:

“Sharira”, performed by Shaji, Kalaripyattu of Kerala, and Tishani Doshi, the yoga practitioner, poet, novelist and dancer.
A choreography accompanied by meditative Dhrupad music by the reputed Gundecha Brothers, lighting by Sadanand Menon, evokes a feeling of wonder.
It is interesting to observe in this film, Chandralekha’s artists expressing the geometry of the body, the fantastic triangles that emanate from the body from its center have to be seen to be believed. Tishani’s yogic pose revealing triangles reiterate that among the dancers, Chandralekha was perhaps the only one, who visualised it in such a superb manner.
