Applications for Berlinale Talents 2017, the Berlin International Film Festival‘s annual summit and networking platform for 250 outstanding creatives from the fields of film and drama series, are now open.
Set to take place from 11-16 February 2017, Berlinale Talents is aimed at film and television professionals during the first ten years of their career.
Participants should have made one feature-length film, two short films or a high-quality TV series that have been screened internationally or won awards.
Distributors or sales agents can apply if they have been considerably involved in either the distribution or sale of at least two feature-length films.
Film critics should have published at least three film-related articles in the last two years.
Students are only chosen in very exceptional cases – eg, when they have worked in the film business before and already possess a promising track record of films or series.
Berlinale Talents offers free accommodation for the days of the programme as well as a partial travel reimbursement that is determined on a case-by-case basis and at the sole discretion of Berlinale Talents.
Actors, composers, cinematographers, directors, distributors, editors, film critics, producers, art directors, sales agents, screenwriters and sound designers are invited to apply to the general summit, or to one of the four Project Labs (Doc Station, Script Station, Short Film Station or Talent Project Market).

Since 2003, Berlinale Talents has served as the festival’s creative summit and networking platform for the most promising and emerging film and TV series professionals from all over the world. It consists of a summit programme with master classes and interactive panel discussions, studios and workshops. In addition, Berlinale Talents offers a range of Project Labs in which participants can further develop and present their own projects. As an initiative of the Berlin International Film Festival, the entire event is closely linked with the programmes of the festival sections and the European Film Market.
Since its inception, more than 250 professionals from the South Mediterranean region have taken part in Berlinale Talents.
